Subgingival scaling is a deep cleaning of the root surfaces from tartar and bacterial biofilm - the key stage in treating periodontitis. We work by segments (a quarter of the jaw per visit) under local anaesthesia with ultrasound and hand Gracey curettes adapted to each root's anatomy. The goal is to remove all deposits and smooth the surface so bacteria can't attach. The pockets then shrink naturally and the gums firm up.

FAQ

Is it painful?
Under local anaesthesia, no. Brief sensitivity of exposed necks is possible afterwards.

How many visits are needed?
Usually 4 — one per segment. The plan depends on the extent of disease.
When is the result visible?
4–6 weeks after the course ends — pockets shrink and bleeding decreases.
What if it doesn't help?
In more complex cases we recommend surgery. The doctor will assess progress and advise next steps.
