Primary endodontic treatment

We save the tooth under a microscope when infection has reached the nerve - without extraction.

Endodontics is how we save a tooth once infection has reached the pulp - the nerve. Instead of extracting, we remove the inflamed tissue, clean and disinfect the root canals, and seal them hermetically. We work under a microscope at 25× magnification and document every stage with photos - so you can see what is actually happening to your tooth, not just take our word for it.

When to come

  • Acute throbbing pain that worsens at night.

  • Darkening of the tooth or a fistula appearing on the gum.

What's included

Diagnosis and imaging

We examine the tooth and take a targeted X-ray or 3D scan to map the number of canals and locate the source of infection.

Anaesthesia

Modern anaesthetics fully numb the tooth, so treatment is comfortable and pain-free.

Rubber dam isolation

A latex sheet isolates the tooth from saliva and bacteria. A sterile field is non-negotiable for quality endodontics.

Work under the microscope

25× magnification reveals the finest canal branches invisible to the naked eye, so no infected tissue is left behind.

Cleaning and measuring the canals

An electronic apex locator and a torque-controlled endomotor precisely determine canal length and shape it safely.

Filling and verification

We seal the canals hermetically, take a verification image, and plan the restoration of the crown.

FAQ

Does root canal treatment hurt?
No. Under modern anaesthesia the tooth is fully numb, and most patients feel relief — the source of the pain is being removed.
How many visits?
Often just one. Complex anatomy or marked inflammation may need a second visit with a temporary medicated dressing.
Why a microscope?
Canals can be thinner than a hair and branch off. Without magnification they are easily missed — the main reason for re-treatment.
What happens after?
A non-vital tooth is more brittle, so we restore it — often with a crown — to protect it from fracture while chewing.
Wouldn't extraction be simpler?
It would, but the gap then needs an implant or bridge. Your own tooth is always better when it can genuinely be saved.
