We extract the tooth atraumatically, preserving the maximum of bone for a future implant.

Tooth extraction at Symmetry is an atraumatic procedure that preserves the maximum of bone tissue. This matters if implantation is planned later: the more bone preserved, the easier the implant. Before the procedure the doctor studies a 3D scan (CBCT) and works with microsurgical instruments and a piezo device that acts only on hard tissue without injuring the soft. If needed, we graft bone material right away to preserve volume.

When to come

  • The tooth cannot be saved by treatment.
  • A fragment or residual root.
  • A root fracture.
  • The tooth obstructs prosthetics or orthodontics.
  • Chronic inflammation around the root.

What's included

3D diagnostics (CBCT)

We study root anatomy and its relation to nerves and sinuses to plan the procedure without surprises.

Anaesthesia

Local anaesthesia fully numbs the area; on request the extraction can be done under sedation.

Atraumatic extraction

We use microsurgical instruments and a piezo device that acts only on hard tissue and spares the soft.

Socket preservation

When indicated we graft bone material and place a membrane to preserve bone volume for an implant.

FAQ

Does extraction hurt?
No. Under modern anaesthesia the area is fully numb, and on request it can be done under sedation.
Can an implant be placed immediately?
Immediate implantation is sometimes possible — we decide based on CBCT, assessing bone volume and quality.
How do I care for the socket?
Don't disturb the clot, avoid rinsing on day one, and follow the doctor's instructions — the basis of fast healing.
When can I eat?
After a few hours — soft, non-hot food on the opposite side. The doctor will give individual details.
Why graft bone?
To preserve volume for a future implant. Without grafting the bone shrinks over time, complicating placement.
