Protect the deep grooves of permanent molars - where a brush cannot reach.

Preventive coating of the chewing surfaces of permanent sixth and seventh teeth with a special material for caries protection that releases calcium and fluoride. It is especially recommended for children during the eruption of permanent teeth. The number of teeth and the method of treatment are determined during a preliminary consultation.

When to come

  • Immediately after the eruption of the permanent sixth teeth - at the age of six or seven.
  • After the seventh teeth erupt - at the age of 12-13.
  • If the fissures are deep and dark, it is a visual sign of vulnerability.
  • In case of a high susceptibility to caries - on the recommendation of a doctor.
  • Before starting orthodontic treatment.

What's included

Examination and selection of teeth

We examine permanent molars and check the depth of the fissures. Sealing works only on teeth without caries - if there are lesions, we treat them first.

Cleaning the surface

Remove plaque from the chewing surface. The tooth must be completely clean for the material to adhere to the enamel.

Insulation against saliva

We use cofferdams or cotton rolls. Saliva during the procedure spoils the adhesion of the material to the enamel.

Application of sealant

We fill the fissures with a liquid material that releases calcium and fluoride. It hardens under the lamp in a few seconds.

Closure control

We check how the tooth closes with the opposite one. If necessary, we grind off the excess so that the bite does not change.
