Extraction of milk teeth

If indicated, and only when the tooth cannot be saved.

Painless and quick tooth extraction with maximum comfort for the child. It is performed according to indications and preliminary X-ray diagnostics. For us, the comfort of our young patients is a priority, so during the extraction, the doctor can use ZAKS - nitrous oxide oxygen sedation, which removes fear and anxiety and helps the child feel relaxed during the extraction.

When to come

  • The milk tooth is severely damaged by caries - treatment is impossible.
  • Chronic inflammation around the root that cannot be treated.
  • Tooth injury with root damage.
  • The baby tooth did not fall out on time, and the permanent tooth is already erupting (persistence).
  • For orthodontic indications - before treatment with braces or plates.

What's included

Examination and X-ray diagnostics

We examine the tooth and the neighboring ones. We take a targeted X-ray - we look at the condition of the root, the level of resorption, the state of the permanent tooth germ. Based on this, we decide whether extraction is really the only option.

Discussion with parents

We show the image and explain what we see. If there are alternatives - pulpitis treatment, observation - we name them. We answer your questions about the procedure.

Anesthesia

We start with an application gel, then use a thin needle and slow injection. If the child is anxious, we add nitrous oxide sedation (NOS).

Removal

The procedure is short. We use special children's instruments that do not injure neighboring teeth. The root of a milk tooth is usually partially resorbed - the removal is gentle.

Overview of the hole and recommendations

We make sure that the root is completely removed. We show you how to take care of the hole in the first days. We give you written recommendations for your hands.

How the visit goes

  1. 1Examination and X-ray.
  2. 2Discussion with parents.
  3. 3Local anesthesia - if necessary, with nitrous oxide.
  4. 4Tooth extraction.
  5. 5Overview of the hole and recommendations.

Why it matters

  • Premature extraction of a baby tooth disrupts the formation of the bite.
  • The tooth holds the place for the permanent one - without it, the neighboring ones shift.
  • X-ray diagnostics shows whether the tooth really cannot be saved.
  • Local anesthesia and nitrous oxide make the procedure calm for the child.

FAQ

We remove a baby tooth only when it is really necessary. The first step is an examination with an X-ray.
