Hygiene lesson and selection of home care products

We show the technique, practice together, and choose the right brush and paste for the child's age.

Teaching your child how to brush their teeth in a playful way. Individual selection of hygiene products (brush, paste, additional products) for effective home care.

When to come

  • For a child of two or three years old, this is the first lesson after a set of baby teeth appears.
  • The transition to independent cleaning is usually at the age of six or seven.
  • During a routine checkup, you notice that your child is not cleaning certain areas.
  • Orthodontic treatment has begun - braces or plates require new techniques.
  • Caries appeared despite regular brushing.

What's included

Assessment of current skills

We ask the child to brush their teeth the way they do at home. We look at the technique, duration, and areas that are not reached. No grades - just fixing the starting point.

Plaque visualization

We stain the teeth with a special indicator - plaque turns pink. The child sees for himself where he does not brush. The abstract requirement to brush your teeth turns into a visible goal.

Demonstration and practice of the technique

We demonstrate the correct movements on the jaw model - angles, duration, sequence. We choose the language and examples according to the child's age. Then the child brushes by himself or herself, and we correct if something goes wrong.

Selecting a brush and toothpaste

Brush - by the size of the head and softness of the bristles. Toothpaste - by the age-appropriate fluoride concentration. If the risk of caries is increased, we recommend a composition with enhanced protection.

Additional tools - if needed

Floss, brushes, interdental brushes, rinses - we prescribe only what really makes sense in a particular case. No unnecessary things.

Briefing for parents

When parents should still help with cleaning, when to pass the responsibility to the child, how to control without pressure. Written recommendations are available.

How the visit goes

  1. 1Talking to the child and parents about caregiving habits.
  2. 2The child brushes his teeth and we watch.
  3. 3Visualization of plaque with an indicator.
  4. 4Demonstration of the technique on a model of the jaw.
  5. 5Practice under supervision.
  6. 6Selection of a brush, paste, and additional products.
  7. 7Instruction for parents.

Why it matters

  • The right technique reduces the risk of tooth decay more effectively than any paste.
  • The plaque indicator turns an abstract requirement into a visible target.
  • Age-appropriate tools work better than "adult" brushes and toothpastes.
  • Parents get clear guidelines: when to help, when to trust.

FAQ

Proper technique is cheaper than caries treatment. During one consultation, we show you the technique, practice it with your child, and select the instruments.
